Digests

Overview

A digest is a curated collection of news for a selected time window with AI-assisted final text. The usual flow is: select candidates, create the digest, generate text, edit manually, approve, and publish when needed.

Flow

Candidates (processed news + AI scores)
-> user selects news and template
-> digest creation
-> AI text generation
-> review and editing
-> approval
-> optional publication

Candidates

Digest candidates come from processed news. Selection respects workspace-level rules such as:

  • Maximum number of items from a single source.
  • Maximum number of items overall.
  • Minimum score required for inclusion.
  • Exclusion of private quotes.
  • Maximum news age.

When users request candidates, they can also set a temporary time window and override the minimum score for that request.

If AI scoring is enabled, each candidate carries relevance data for the workspace themes.

Templates

A digest template defines the tone, structure, and constraints of the final output.

Core settings

  • Template name.
  • Tone: style guidance such as formal, concise, or without emojis.
  • Text format: the render template used for generation.
  • Model: the OpenAI model used to produce text.

Advanced settings

  • Style profile.
  • Output modes.
  • Formatting rules.
  • Prompt blueprints.
  • Generation constraints.

Generate a template from a source

Templates can be created automatically from the style of an existing Telegram source. See AI.

Emoji in templates

Digest editors support standard emoji and synced Telegram custom emoji. Custom emoji are available after a publishing account syncs them on the Telegram integration page.

Images

Digest templates can also define image behavior:

  • Enable or disable cover generation.
  • Provide a base image prompt.
  • Choose an output size or aspect.
  • Add reference images.

Create and generate a digest

  1. Open the digest workflow and choose a time window.
  2. Load candidates and select the items to include.
  3. Pick a template and generate the digest.
  4. Review the AI output and edit it if needed.
  5. Approve the digest to finalize the output.

Approved text is prepared for Telegram-friendly delivery when required.

Publication

After approval, a digest can be prepared for publication.

Direct single-post publication is handled through the autopublish flow. Full digest channel publishing is not implemented as a separate automated public workflow.

Promo images

Signailist also supports promotional image generation for digest-related content. This flow combines a base image with safe markdown-derived text overlays and optional badges.
